The Hanoitimes – The Prime Minister has approved a program for information technology (IT) sector development through 2020, with a vision to 2025. Accordingly, the IT sector will rapidly develop and be sustainable industry with high turnover and large export value.
The programme requires the sector to achieve an annual increase of at least 15% in software, digital content and IT services and attract about 5 billion USD in foreign investment into the electronic hardware industry in the 2015-2020 period.
Vietnam targets to maintain its ranking in top ten countries preferred destinations for software outsourcing in the world.
Vietnamese IT sector aims to develop its core products, focusing on software used in state agencies and enterprises to meet both domestic and international demands
One of top priorities in the sector is building capacity and improving the competitiveness of IT organisations and companies.
