(VOVworld) – Singaporean Parliament Speaker Halima Yacob has started an official visit to Vietnam. Speaking during the welcoming reception, Vietnamese national Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said Vietnam always facilitates Singapore’s investment in Vietnam and wished for more cooperation in trade, education, tourism and scientific research.
Speaker Yacob said Vietnam’s open and favorable investment climate will attract more Singaporean investors. They agreed to boost bilateral cooperation for peace, stability, cooperation and development. They pledged strengthen cooperation in the building of the ASEAN community, focusing on security, economic, cultural and social pillars.
They said the East Sea issue must be resolved by peaceful means and negotiation while calling for an early issuance of a Code of Conducts for Parties in the East Sea as the best solution for countries to comply with.
