PANO – The Department for Search and Rescue on April 3rd sent a telegram to instruct the Border Guard Command, the Navy and Vietnam Coast Guard Command to be geared up to cope with storm Maysak which is likely to hit Vietnam’s coastal areas.
Accordingly, border troops of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa will cooperate with localities and ship owners to keep track of the developments of the storm and inform offshore boats to find shelter. The Border Guard Command was also asked to keep in touch with vehicles operating at sea to timely deal with problems.
Meanwhile, naval and coast guard units should follow the direction of the storm and come up with plans to ensure safety for vehicles operating at sea and prepare forces for search as rescue mission when needed.
