(VOVworld) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reiterated his willingness to return to negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the Middle East peace progress.
In an interview on Saturday with the Arab-language newspaper Kul al-Arab, Abbas said thatNetanyahu’s pre-election statements against the establishment of a Palestinian state were not constructive but he will wait until Israel’s new coalition government is formed and comments on this issue.
Abbas called on Israeli authorities to agree to the Arab Peace Initiative proposed by Saudi Arabia, which will see Israel withdraw to the 1967 border lines in exchange for normalized ties with Arab states.
Abbas demanded Jordan, Egypt, and the US broker future negotiations between Israel and Palestine.
