(VOVworld) – A workshop to discuss new models of cooperatives in the current phase of development for the 2015-2016 and 2017-2020 period opened in Hanoi on Saturday.
Participants discussed plans and roadmaps for developing new models of cooperatives over the next 5 years and the role of state management in this matter. Vuong Dinh Hue, head of the Central Economic Commission, said it is essential to increase public awareness of the position, role, and significance of the collective economy and cooperatives in the socialist-oriented market economy: “It is necessary to improve awareness of the collective economy and differentiate old and new models of cooperatives. It’s also important to implement policies concerning cooperatives.”
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan said new models of cooperatives will create momentum for agricultural growth.
