The awards presentation ceremony has been held at Phuong Dong University in Hanoi, as part of activities to celebrate the upcoming 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) in Hanoi.
The contest was launched in January 2015, inviting Vietnamese and foreigners under 35 years old who are living and working in Vietnam to submit entries, aiming to introduce and promote images of a friendly, dynamic and peace-loving country in the process of international integration.
More than a month after the launch, the organizing board received more than 1,000 entries sent in from all over the country and decided to give prizes to the 23 most outstanding works, including one first prize worth VND15 million, four second prizes worth VND10 million each, six third prizes worth VND8 million each and 12 consolation prizes worth VND3 million each.
Second prize winners were Nguyen Tuan Anh from Zing.vn newswire, Phung Nam Suong from Vietnam News Agency and Vu Van Long from Bac Ninh, among others.
Photographer Vu Huyen, former vice chairman of the Vietnam Artistic Photographers Association and head of the jury said that the contest has received a lot of works, including many high quality photographs depicting positive messages.
Many works have updated trends with new perspectives but still comply with the set criteria.
