(VOV) – Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong received Speaker of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly Chung Ui-Hwa in Hanoi on March 18.
Both countries have become important strategic partners and the RoK was Vietnam’s biggest investor, Trong told his guest.
The Party leader hailed the two countries’ announcement of having finalized free trade agreement negotiations which would bring two-way trade to US$70 billion by 2020.
He pledged to facilitate Korean businesses’ investment in Vietnam, laying emphasis on stronger legislation and supervision cooperation between the two legislative bodies in the future.
Chung Ui hwa said the Korean parliament, government and people hoped to expand cooperation with Vietnam in various fields and affirmed his best efforts to contribute to the development of relations between the two legislatures and peoples.
