(VOVworld)- French President Francois Hollande held a meeting on Saturday to congratulate Asian people in France on the occasion of their traditional lunar New Year festival.
In his address, the French President highlighted the history of relationship between Asia and France affirming that generations of Asian people working and living in France are generations of French citizens. In regard to Vietnam, President Hollande said Vietnam and France have a close historical bond and that the Vietnamese community in France is dynamic. He said the two countries signed a strategic partnership agreement in 2013 and held several activities in 2014 to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties. The French President urged the two countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in language and culture.
