(VEN) – Phu Tho Province’s Department of Industry and Trade reported that 22 Industrial Zones (IZs) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province have been planned on a total area of 1,254 ha. Of those, 11 IZs for SMEs have completed their plannings, seven ICs have their infrastructure projects approved by the provincial People’s Committee and six districts and towns have established IZs for SMEs management boards.
So far, two IZs for SMEs have fundamentally completed infrastructure investment and become operational with the occupancy rate of over 60 percent including Bach Hac IZs for SMEs (Viet Tri City) and Dong Lang IZs for SMEs (Phu Ninh District). The remaining IZs for SMEs are undergoing site clearance and other infrastructure investment. Land in some IZs for SMEs has been hired and investors have been undertaking investment.
In the first six months of this year, 49 projects were launched in the local IZs for SMEs. Enterprises inside these IZs for SMEs have made a good contribution to the province’s industrial production value of about VND871.885 billion, of which VND8.5 billion was paid to the State Budget. Local IZs for SMEs have also created 2,958 jobs for about 2,958 workers, contributing to ensure local social security./.
