Paintings by three Southeast Asian artists on show in Vietnam

As many of 47 artworks by 22 painters from three Southeast Asian nations, including Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, are on display at a water colour exhibition which opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on April 1st.

This is the first water color exhibition ever takes place in Vietnam for artists from those 3 countries.

The event was the initiative of Malaysian painters to encourage using water colours more regularly and professionally instead of using them for sketches and design.

The exhibition introduce works by 11 artists from Vietnam, including Phan Cam Thuong, Pham Huy Thong, Doan Hoang Lam, Vuong Van Thao, Ha Manh Thang, Doan Xuan Tang, Vu Pham Truong Minh, Ngo Quang Duong, Luu Bao Trung, Bui Duy Khanh and Truong Van Ngoc; two artists from Thailand, including Direk Kingnok, Suwit Jaipom; and nine artists from Malaysia, including Chow Chin Chuan, Chua Cha Hui, Chua Cheng Koon, Leong Kim Kuan, Tan Suz Chiang, Tang Moon Kian, Yong Look Lam, Long Thien Shin, Angelo.

Doan Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Director of Fine Arts-Photography – Exhibition Bureau highlighted the event as step forwardsthe improved painting field while hoping that the painters, through the event, will strengthen connectivity and help other painters in the world learn more about their art style.

Running in Vietnam until April 7th, the exhibition will be introduced in Malaysia./.
