(VOV) -Sixty racers from across the country turned out for the first professional all terrain motocross style competition in Vietnam that was held at the sand dunes of Mui Dinh.
The competition consisted of 7 categories for four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle, all-terrain vehicle (ATV), and utility transport vehicle (UTV).
The 4WD vehicles were equipped with a full range of safety equipment such as anti-sway frames, fire extinguishers and seat belts. In addition, the vehicles were required to have winches and snorkel exhausts capable of negotiating deep water.
An all-terrain vehicle (ATV), also known as a quad, quad bike, three-wheeler, or four-wheeler, is a vehicle that travels on low-pressure tires, with a seat that is straddled by the operator, along with handlebars for steering control.
It is designed to handle a wider variety of terrain than most other vehicles.
UTV vehicles are designed primarily for recreational use or for the transportation of property or equipment exclusively on undeveloped road rights of way, marshland, open country or other unprepared surfaces.
The event was co-organised by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee.
