Vietnamese drug authority March 13 decided not to issue certificates of registration to two eye drop kinds as they contained banned chemicals and asks removal of the drugs.

The two eye drops are Zymar made and registered by the US Allergan Sales Company and Efticati made and registered by Vietnamese Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 3-2.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam banned the two drugs from circulating in the market because they contained banned active agent Gatifloxacin.

The drug watchdog also asked the eye drop medicines’ registration companies and producers to work with importers and distributors to recall all products in the country as per the present law. Later they have to report the result to the Drug Administration of Vietnam.
