Parts of Hanoi will switch off lights in 60 minutes beginning 9:30 p.m. on March 22 in respond to the Earth Hour 2015 campaign, according a plan approved by the city People’s Committee.
The event will be aired live on VTV3 from Cach Mang Thang Tam Square.
Hanoi will turn off street and decoration lights and advertising boards for one hour at well-known places, public areas, and headquarters of Government agencies.
Besides, the city authorities will put out banners and spread propaganda in districts, wards and communes and on the media so that local residents have acknowledge of the Earth Hour campaign and back it.
