(VOVworld) – France plans to begin talks on a new UN Security Council resolution to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace prospects.
French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Friday that a discussion on the resolution will start over the next few days. The UN Security Council in December rejected a resolution that would have set a deadline for reaching a final peace deal and pave the way to the creation of a Palestinian state. The EU is considering pressuring Israel to resume talks with Palestine. EU’s authorities said that Belgium is evaluating new measures to increase pressures against Israel, calling on Israel to return to peace negotiations with Palestine towards an agreement based on a two-state solution.
