(VOVworld) – Deputy Minister of Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh welcomed Rose Gottemoeller, Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security for the US State Department on her first visit to Vietnam at a Tuesday reception in Hanoi. Mr. Vinh said defense cooperation between the two countries had made progress in dealing with war consequences such as Agent Orange victims. He called on both sides to step up cooperation in dealing with natural calamities, search and rescue operation, security maintenance, and aviation safety.
Later the same day, Vinh received Russian Military, Air and Naval Attaché to Vietnam Colonel S.N.Zabgav, who came to bid farewell at the end of his working term in Vietnam.
