PANO – Army units in South Vietnam had well maintained combat readiness and traffic safety, and effectively held activities for their on-duty troops during the 2015 Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, assessed Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defence, at the Headquarters of Army Corps 4 on February 23rd.
Accordingly, they beefed up combat readiness and contributed to ensuring social order, especially in areas where fireworks were held, and sent delegations to present Tet gifts and extend greetings to local wounded soldiers, policy beneficiaries and martyrs’ relatives.
While highly appreciating their results, the Deputy Minister asked them to focus on the first enlistment drive of this year and set training tasks, and prepare for the coming celebration for the 40th South’s Liberation Day anniversary.
