The Hai Duong Transport Department on February 24 morning deployed forces to launch tree planting on provincial roads to protect road traffic safety corridors.

In attendance were Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Mr. Nguyen Anh Cuong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Addressing the force deployment ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien affirmed the important role of tree planting to the environment, contributing to ensuring traffic safety and protecting traffic infrastructure.

He required local authorities to actively coordinate with the transport sector to plant, care for, and protect trees to form green routes in the province.

Shortly after the launching ceremony, the provincial leaders planted trees alongside a section of provincial road 395 that crosses Tan Tien commune (Gia Loc district).

The Transport Department intends to plant 650,000 trees, mostly xa cu (Khaya senegalensis), eucalyptus, and keo tai tuong (Acacia mangium), on 17 provincial roads with a length of about 95km in 2015.
